Counties Racing Club

Past Sponsorship

Originally formed in 1920 as the Franklin Racing Club, Counties Racing Club is based at Pukekohe Park, and boasts an excellent training facility for local trainers.

A 15 metre wide, all-weather track has been a welcome addition to the training facility, which along with two grass surfaces and a plough track, and a dual lamp lighting system, allows trainers to consistently work their horses at a designated time. Along with these training facilities, Pukekohe Park also has a function centre and a motor sport track.

Throughout the season, Counties Racing Club holds up to 16 race meetings – the premier Counties Cup Day is held in November.

During the season we like to sponsor a race at one of Counties Racing Club’s race meetings, and then sponsor a prize for the annual Awards Night dinner, where horses, stable hands, jockeys, trainers and owners are recognised.
